Cibosano’s founder and Director, Totuccio Castiglione, was born in Mussomeli, Italy where he enjoyed a traditional rural upbringing. He developed his commercial skills at a very young age helping out in the family wood-fired bakery and assisting with the purchase of livestock from farms to be sold for organic meat.
In 1977 the family moved to England so his parents could pursue a business opportunity. Totuccio worked hard on brushing up his English language skills and after college started working in the family owned Italian restaurant where he soon rediscovered his passion for authentic Italian food.
In 1984 he started working as a sales executive for a subsidiary of a renowned Italian food producer. For 11 years he successfully developed a portfolio of retail and wholesale customers selling charcuterie products, cheeses and other Italian specialities from some of the most prestigious brands in the trade. For the following 8 years he was responsible for developing other brands as UK exclusive agent for Italian manufacturers supplying major traders in Great Britain.
In 2003 there was the need to found a UK base to stock products locally so Cibosano Ltd was founded, importing quality Italian food products and supplying them to wholesalers, high quality delicatessens and restaurants. Meanwhile, his son Antonio joined the company as logistical and sales support.
